

Father Larry was born in Pontiac, MI on April 26, 1977 to Paulina and Nicholas Legakis. His parents immigrated to the United States in 1974 with their oldest son Steve. Father also has a younger sister, Matina. Father Larry was raised in Royal Oak, MI where he went to elementary school, Junior High, and High School. Growing up he attended St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Bloomfield Hills, MI. In 1996 Father graduated from Royal Oak Kimball High school and enrolled in Hellenic College as a seminarian.
In May of 2000, Father Larry graduated from Hellenic College and enrolled in Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. In May of 2003, Father graduated from Holy Cross. During his time in Holy Cross Father met Jennifer Servetas, who was a classmate of his. In December of 2002, they were engaged and married on November 1, 2003. In August of 2004, their first child Nicholas was born in Cincinnati, OH. In March of 2008, their daughter Vasilia was born in Louisville, KY. In October of 2012, their third child Lukia was born in Louisville, KY.
In January of 2004, Father Larry was assigned by Metropolitan Nicholas as the lay assistant at Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Cincinnati, OH. On March 6, 2004, Father was ordained to the Deaconate by Metropolitan Nicholas at his home parish of St. George in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Father Larry served as a Deacon in Cincinnati until May 7, 2004 when he was ordained to priesthood by Metropolitan Nicholas in Cincinnati. Father Larry served as associate Priest in Cincinnati until March of 2006 when he was assigned to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Louisville, KY. On July 1, 2015, Metropolitan Nicholas assigned Father Larry to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Toledo, OH, where he served until July of 2026. On August 3, 2026, Metropolitan Nicholas assigned Father Larry to Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Sterling Heights, MI, where he currently serves.
On the Saturday of Lazarus, Saturday, April 24, 2024, Father Larry was bestowed the Office of Protopresbyter by Metropolitan Nicholas.

Reverend Nicholas Kyritses was born on December 10, 1949 in Trikorfon, Nafpaktias, Greece. There he received his elementary school education and later he attended high school in Nafpaktos. In 1963, he was admitted to the Ecclesiastical School of Lamia, from which he received a diploma six yeas later.
In 1970, he entered Hellenic College, Brookline, Massachusetts. Four years later, he received his B.A. in Philosophy and religious studies. Father Nicholas was ordained to the Holy Diaconate by His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Apameia, at the monastery of Pendeli near Athens on August 1, 1976. He received his Master of Divinity from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in May of 1977.
On February 10, 1977, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, with the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Iakovos appointed Father Nicholas to be the Proistamenos of the St. John the Baptist parish. He assumed this position on March 1, 1977. In January, 2002, Father Nicholas was bestowed the Offikion of Protopresbyter by His Grace
Bishop Nicholas. Father Nicholas retired in August 2022 after 45 years of service to our community.
Fr. Nicholas has been blessed with two children: John Nicholas Kyritses married to Leslie Bruno and Vasiliki (Becky) married to John K. Patouhas, and seven grandchildren.
